Cameron Nichols aka Coach Cam has been coaching basketball in the Michigan for 16 years.  He has coached at Delta Community College, Ferndale HS, Detroit CMA, Detroit Renaissance (HC - 6 yrs), Detroit Country Day School and Saginaw Valley State University (AC - 3 yrs).     He has been instrumental in helping 30+ former players receive scholarships to play college basketball.

 

Prior to coaching, Coach Cam was a solid basketball player also. In high school at Detroit Cass Tech, in 1998 his team defeated Antonio Gates and Detroit Central to win the PSL City Championship.  That 1998 CT team also played in the 3rd highest scoring game in MHSAA history in a double OT Regional final win over Catholic Central, 117-116.  After HS, Coach Cam played four seasons at Saginaw Valley State University.  His college career included being named GLIAC Player of the Week in 2003, Senior Award ('03), Thoroughbred Award ('02), Most Improved Player ('01 & '00)  and is ranked as one of SVSU's top three point shooters.  After college, he played two seasons in the IBL (International Basketball League) and was named an IBL All-Star in 2005.  He also had a chance to play overseas in Austria as apart of the Derisio US Travel Team.

 

Coach Cam has been involved with the Reaching Higher Top 100 Showcase, IPS Senior Showcase, RP3's College Regimen Camp, Michigan Elite 25 and REACH Legends Youth Program.

When it comes to running or hosting a basketball camp, you wont find a better coach than Cam Nichols!  He thrives in this element being able to relate to kids while always pushing them to get better.  His energy is so infectious you can feel it as soon as you walk in the gym!!  He has run the Coach Cam Elite 90 Shooting Session, Shooting Stars Basketball camps, College guard camps, College Elite Prospect camps and has worked various camps around the state of Michigan and beyond!
